BAHAMAS
Don't Rock
The Bahamas are just relaxing on white beaches, crystal clear water and enjoying the local people. Cruise a few miles a day and find some good snorkeling grounds. Or drag a line and catch some fish. Abaco Island and the Exumas are a good get away during the winter months and it is true that life is better in the Bahamas. Sailing is smooth on Abaco Island as the outer reefs are braking the waves, but still let the wind pass. Snorkeling is fantastic and always close to shore. The Exumas consist of 365 islands south east of Nassau. Most of them uninhabited, but the trend is changing fast and mundane resorts do grow like mushrooms.
On shore, there are settlements with some local delicatessen as well some local music.
Restaurants are available in larger villages where Conch is always available. Picturesque places like Hopetown are welcoming sailors and provide for bike rides, a swimming pool and seafood for dinners.
It is better in the Bahamas and one doesn't have to go far to find good snorkeling.
