Carnival
After we had a wonderful and unforgettable trip the last year, we will do it again next year.
The trip starts and ends on St. Vincent and this island can be reached by American Airlines to St. Lucia and a connection to St. Vincent with a local airline.
Provisional Itinerary.
-Feb 22 Provisioning the boat and check out boat
-Feb 23 Departure for the Tobago Cays, Grenadines, a large horseshoe reef
-Feb 24 Tobago Cays
-Feb 25 Grenada,
-Feb 28 Grenada – Port of Spain, Trinidad, Overnight Sail
-Mar 1 Children’s Carnival
-Mar 2 Carnival
-Mar 3 Carnival, Departure for Tobago
-Mar 4 Tobago Island
-Mar 5 Tobago
-Mar 6 Tobago
-Mar 7 Tobago – Union Island, Daysail
-Mar 8 Union Island – Canouan
-Mar 9 Canouan - Bequia
-Mar 10 Bequia
-Mar 11 Bequia – St. Vincent
-Mar 12 Leave St. Vincent
This is a leisurely schedule and leaves room for changes if needed. It will be wonderful as temperatures, water and air are warm and suitable for snorkeling, swimming and sailing.
Prices:
Although the boat prices always go up, we will keep the $ 1150.00 per person per week as last year, based on a minimum of 8 participants.
This would come to a total of $ 2875.00 per person for the 18 days.
The price includes:
-Boat charter incl. insurance for boat, (excluding dinghy and outboard).
-Skipper
-Linens and towels. (Beach towel not incl.).
Excluded in price:
-Mooring fees, although only a few marinas will have a facility and we will anchor in most places.
-Diesel fuel and dinghy fuel. Depending on how much wind we will have and how much we use the dinghy.
-Water. Water is sparse on some islands and we have to buy it.
-Clearing fees and customs fee if applicable. Almost every island is another country where we have to go through immigration and customs formalities.
-Departure Fee from St. Vincent.
-Provisioning and Beverage. This depends on how often we eat on the boat or go ashore.
-End cleaning of boat.
Above not included costs will be shared equally by all participants incl. skipper.
Payments:
-$ 1000.00 per person is due before September 30, 2002 on registration.
-$ 1250.00 per person December 31, 2002
-$ 625.00 per person January 31, 2002
Liability:
Each participant (incl. skipper) does agree not to apply a claim under each other with the exception of great negligence of an individual. The liability in such a case shall not exceed to coverage of a personal liability insurance policy. The boat and material is covered by insurance paid by Creative Sailing Corp. However the companies do not insure the loss of the dinghy and outboard. But with a careful handling of these items, we should not have a problem to loose them. If so, the group shares in equal parts for the replacement costs. (See under General Conditions).
The Yacht:
The boat is a SUN ODYSSEY 525 made by Jeanneau in France or equivalent yacht made by Beneteau. It has 2 double cabins aft, 2 double cabins in front and a bow cabin accessible from the deck. We do not plan to accommodate people in the bow cabin. But it would be an option, if a couple would have a single family member to come along on the trip. Each cabin has its own head and shower.
The boat is equipped with all the necessary safety equipment like liferaft, life wests, safety harnesses, dinghy. It is a wonderful boat, sails well and is the largest size available for charter.
Participant Requirements.
-Each participant has to be a swimmer or wear a swim west all the time.
-Has to have a valid passport
-Is prepared to help in some work in the galley and keep the cabin in a reasonable order.
Snorkeling Equipment:
Will be on board, but if you have prescription glasses, you may want to take your own mask.
