CROATIA

Dubrovnik

Croatia, a former part of Yugoslavia is now independent and is rewarding for the sailor and the history buff. The change from communism to a democracy has had a dramatic effect. The local people are friendly and warm and the area is now safe for foreign visitors. It has the nicest marinas with superb facilities. Provisioning is available all over although one would not miss to try all the little local restaurants with a good selection of food. The many wars going through this area has left some marks, but all the villages along the coast have fully recovered. The waters are crystal clear and the Adriatic sea is a wonderful place to cruise. It is easy to get there through many European cities but best served out of Vienna.
